Hey, Barb and Tweeters,

I think Barb's /tweet/ calls might be Swainson's Thrush(es). I recorded
one last week, making its typical /whit /call that you hear in May,
before it begins its "normal" upward song. It's been singing like this
for a couple of weeks at least. A neighbor routinely sees one in her
birdbath.

I have guessed that it's the "false spring" phenomenon, which has turned
up again on Tweeters in relation to other species. I have a recording,
in case anybody wants documentation or to pose another guess.

Cheers,
Ellen Blackstone, Wedgwood, Seattle
