I failed to post this last night. During late afternoon yesterday I had a single acorn woodpecker in the oaks behind my house. I heard it calling and went to look and saw it fly from one branch to another. I went into the house to get a camera and never saw it again. I wonder if it is one of the Vancouver birds or a bird on the move? All I can say is this is the best yard bird for me.
