Scavenging by Peregrine Falcons along the outer coast of southwestern Washington is a fairly common practice, and we have numerous records of seabird and waterbird carcasses there being scavenged by a variety of species. We have also observed falcons at those beaches with items they had captured alive, including taxa as large as ducks, grebes and gulls. I am currently working with 2 other biologists to summarize our findings.
