Subject: [Tweeters] Sapsucker Woods Pond 24-hr cam

A friend put me onto this - it is primarily for sounds, but sometimes there are some good views. He uses it for a soothing background as he does other internet stuff, usually in the 'night-owl' hours. Action starts, like around here, at 2:30 or so in the a.m. here (equating to 5:30 EDT, as the cam is near Ithaca, NY). I am now using it as I write this post - it really IS a pleasant addition to my writing. However, aside from the bird species we share with the NE, many of the calls/songs jolt me out of my writing because I don't know the eastern birds much at all. Anyone know of a western counterpart to this cam? That would be glorious... Perhaps one of our sound recordists out here, will initiate plans for a cam (a comparable pond/woods one would be good for a starter).

Here's the site link:

If any of you can identify some of the bird sounds, drop us a post - it would be a nice educational experience.

Mourning Dove calling is my signal to end whatever post or message I'm in the process of writing - there one goes, so g'bye for now :-)
