Hi,

Spent Tuesday and Wednesday at Neah Bay hoping to find the WWDO. No luck.

Best time to check the Collared Dove flock near the Butler Motel for a stray is early morning: between 6:30 and 8:30. This morning there were probably c100 doves present. Several of them were in the surrounding area as well. By 9:30 they had mostly dispersed. I should emphasize it is not possible to check all the birds so it might still be there.

The birds do gather again late afternoon at the motel but not in the numbers seen early morning based on our experience.

I highly recommend staying at Butler's Motel. Nancy is very birder friendly and tries to keep the feeders stocked. If you visit recommend you take a seed donation.

Birding the area was interesting as usual. Found spots on Bahokas Peak where we had a first sample of the raptor watch. Our highlight was 3 Golden Eagles. But we saw lots of raptors and vultures.

Cheers, Steve
