The sisters (me, Liz, Joanne and Etta) stayed 3 nights in a cabin at the Hobuck Beach Resort and ate 3 really good dinners at the Warm House restaurant in Neah Bay. Except for windy and rainy Sunday, the weather was good for birding Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday: low to mid 50s, no rain, and mild to moderate winds. We compiled 17 eBird checklists, and saw/heard 91 species during 4/24 to 4/27. We birded these hot spots: Bahokus Peak; Neah Bay; Cape Flattery; Cape Flattery Road--Hobuck
Overlook; Hobuck Beach; Makah Fish Hatchery; Shi Shi Beach; Tsoo-Yess River Valley; Wa'atch River Valley; and Salt Creek County
Park (on the way home 4/27).

Highlights from our eBird "Detailed Week Report":

Harlequin Ducks, 8 in Neah Bay, 12 at Salt Creek
White-winged Scoters, 20 in Neah Bay
Red-throated Loon, 1 (non breeding plumage)
Pacific Loon, 3 at Salt Creek (breeding plumage)
Horned Grebe, 2, 6 in Neah Bay; 18 at Salt Creek (most in breeding plumage)
BLACK-FOOTED ALBATROSS, 4 gliding N, NW along the Straits and just over the Neah Bay Marina. Yes, high up in the sky directly over our heads!! We watched them for about 3-4 minutes. A life bird for 2 of us. Field marks are described in our eBird report.

Bald Eagle, 31 high count (Hobuck Beach--feeding on 2 dead seals, birds of all ages)
Sandhill Crane, 24 high count (saw twice overhead on 2 separate evenings: over Neah Bay Marina and over Hobuck Beach)
Great-horned Owl, 2 heard at Shi Shi Beach parking lot
Vaux's Swift, 3
Townsend's Solitaire, 1 (fish hatchery)
Varied Thrush, 2 (Shi Shi Beach trail)
American Pipit, 1 (Hobuck Beach)

Black-throated Gray Warbler, 3 (various spots)
Townsend's Warbler, 8 (Hobuck Beach road)
Wilson's Warbler, migratory groups of 60, 48, 10 (various spots)
