Hi Tweets,

another great day at the Refuge with First of Year GREEN HERON, BLUE-WINGED
TEAL and YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRD. The Heron at the Visitor Center Pond
Overlook and the Teal and Blackbird both seen in the fresh water marsh on
the inside of the Nisqually Estuary Trail or new dike. Other highlights
included many YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER, mostly myrtle variety migrating
through, three PEREGRINE FALCON and a MERLIN, and many CINNAMON TEAL.
Waterfowl numbers were way down and we expected to see more shorebirds, but
maybe next week.

79 species for the day with 130 species for the year. Mammals seen
included Cotton-tailed Rabbit, Eastern Gray Squirrel, Harbor Seal,
California Sea Lion, Muskrat, and Columbia Black-tailed Deer.
