Rest Lake water levels have been drawn down and there were shorebirds on the unit today mid day. The vegetation in the unit makes it hard to see into so be patient. I found 3 lesser yellowlegs, 11 greater yellowlegs, 15 least sandpiper, 1 apparent semipalmated sandpiper that I got fleeting looks at and 1 or 2 Baird's sandpiper an early sighting and the best bird of the day. I thought there were two but never saw both at the same time so at least one. Also 42 great egret taking advantage of dropping water.

Long Lake is almost dry and there were about 30 least sandpiper on it.
