Hello Tweets,

Josh Glant and I took a North Carolina birder, Martina Nordstrand, over the
cascades to get her some lifers. On Saturday, we ventured from Windy Point
Campground to Oak Creek, Othello, and Soap Lake. Today, we wrapped up
around Othello and finished the birding at Baird Springs road near Ephrata.
Highlights are as follows

Saturday:
White-throated Swift- large flock over oak creek
Lewis's Woodpecker - 16 at oak creek
Scissor-tailed Flycatcher - still associating with the plentiful western
kingbirds
Stilt Sandpiper - 1 only 10 feet away at soap lake with LEYE and many other
peeps
Phalaropes - 80 red-necked and 2 wilsons at soap lake

Sunday:
Sagebrush Sparrow - at least 3 along baird springs road with tons of lark,
brewers, vesper, and chipping sparrows
Clark's Grebe - 1 at lind coulee
Burrowing Owl - 1 along lemaster road

It was great to get to a part of the state I don't usually frequent. We
ended up seeing around 100 species during the weekend and got Martina 20
lifers!

Adam
