Yesterday, Jason Taylor found Sanderlings at the Chambers Bay golf course in Pierce county. Today, I checked and had 12 Sanderlings, 3 Semi-palmated Plovers and 2 Baird' Sandpipers, all hard to find in Pierce county. Go to the lower parking lot at the golf course and walk west and over the bridge to the sound. Go right once on the beach looking for shorebirds in the next half of a mile. Low tide is a must, so check tide tables before hand. Last year Marbled Godwits were found here as well. parking is free.
