Studying my Ligouri Hawk book and the only bird that fits my sighting of a dark (nearly black) body and as described lighter underwing coverts (very subtle) but apparent.
Are these possible at Ocean Shores?

Forgot to mention in my earlier post. Saw this near the ponds at Hoquiam, closer to the station. Head shorter, closer to the wings.

If not, other possibilities? No others seem to fit the bill.
