Hi Tweeters,
I tried today (12/5) for the third day to relocate the Red-shouldered Hawk first spotted this weekend by Steve Giles on Woodhouse Loop (off of Canyon Rd. south of Ellensburg). After about an hour of freezing cold searching and many good looks at Red-tailed Hawks, a Cooper?s Hawk and a Sharp-shinned Hawk, I managed to relocate the Red-shouldered Hawk across from the WDFW parking area (east-side of the road in trees on private land). This was just at the time that Deborah Essman was about to give up, but both she and I managed to get good looks at the bird first flying and then perched. I got terrible phone-scoped photos and attached them to my eBird checklist:
