Tweeters,

A bit cloudy, cool (30degF) with about a half-inch of snow on the ground this morning for the five of us that enjoyed ourselves on a weather-closed JBLM Eagles Pride Golf Course. Pretty quiet (19 species) and highlights were slim, but one for sure was a flyover by a RED CROSSBILL, a species that we've only seen a few of this year. Two RED-TAILED HAWKS were interacting and calling near the start of our walk. At Hodge Lake last month, there were four NORTHERN SHOVELERS -- a male and three females. Today, we had four Northern Shovelers, with the same sex ratio -- could be the same birds as last month.

The JBLM Eagles Pride GC birders meet the third Thursday of each month at 8:00AM. Starting point is Bldg # 1514, Driving Range Tee, Eagles Pride Golf Course, I-5 Exit 116, Mounts Road Exit. Upcoming walks include the following:

* January 19

* February 16

* March 16

Anyone is welcome to join us!
