Hi Tweeters -

Watching the new hummer nest this am and did see her fly down to one of the fluff balls (not near the feeders) and grab a little tuft and zoomed right back up to the nest so saw
her placing it in the bottom of the nest, tucking it in to keep her eggs warm (and her feet? ;-))

So glad after the blustery fronts that came through, she's still there. I can see her with the scope from inside, though the pine needles droop down in front. But when she faced the house, it seemed as if she was looking directly at me. If I move the scope to other places (outside) I can get a full on view (not inside the nest, sadly).

I'm only hoping the nest isn't discovered by all the other birds in the area. I can see her sitting on the nest, with her motor running, ready to chase any intruders away.

Besides the feeders, there is sweet daphne and sarcococca blooming now as well as the remnants of Viburnum bodnantense 'Dawn' - I even saw her on the hellebores. Would love to see her on the snowdrops!
