It would be interesting to know if there is a difference in the behavior
between urban and rural Anna hummingbirds. I have the same type of fluff
ball hanging near a feeder that Caryn uses and, I think, 3 female Anna's
using the feeder. The fluff ball hasn't been touched. Caryn is urban and I
am rural.

Hi Tweeters -

Just watched one hummer collecting fluff chase another one off. Then she
came back and grabbed another little clump and then dropped it. She followed
it down to the ground, actually picked it up (rather than go back to the
ball) and then took it to the nest and tucked it in! It's fun watching her
wiggle it in, moving around and using her bill to poke it in around.
