Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report

at 503-233-3976.

A bright male HOODED ORIOLE was seen during the week in the Collin?s View
Neighborhood of SW Portland. A subadult male ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK was
photographed during the week near Walterville in Lane County.

Migrant RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRDS are now moving into Curry and Coos Counties. A
few SAY?S PHOEBES are now arriving in Eastern Oregon. Spawning Herring are
now moving into Yaquina Bay attracting large numbers of birds. Always an
exciting event.

On February 10 a female TRICOLORED BLACKBIRD was seen on Sauvie Island. A
flock of 25 TREE SWALLOWS were at the Tualatin NWR. Five VULTURES were over
Willamina February 16. Among a large flock of gulls along Delashmutt Road
east of Amity February 14 were three GLAUCOUS GULLS and five WESTERN GULLS.
A week before, this flock contained a probable LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL. On
February 15 eight WHITE PELICANS and 17 TREE SWALLOWS were at Fern Ridge
Reservoir.

A BLACK-CAPPED CHICKADEE is now being seen in Bend. On February 13 a gray
phase GYRFALCON was seen east of Joseph.

That?s it for this week.
