Hi Tweets,

Russ Smith spotted an odd duck on Phil Kelly's Wednesday Walk at Nisqually
NWR yesterday in Shannon Slough visible from the Nisqually Estuary Trail
and Observation Tower at the beginning of the Nisqually Estuary Boardwalk
Trail.

We think it's a BUFFLEHEAD X COMMON GOLDENEYE hybrid, here are the distant
digiscope photographs.

Interestingly, we may have seen this bird two years ago February 5th, 2014,
and we have photos submitted on our eBird report from that time.

Bob Boekelheide mentioned to me two years ago that they had a similar
looking bird near Sequim many years ago.

Happy birding,
Shep
