Hi Tweeters,

Sadly, I just checked on the hummer (I'd tucked a piece of lichen off of the tree onto the fluff ball) - when I looked up all the lichens looked different. I went out to look around and beneath the nest, I did find a destroyed egg, still wet with its contents. I also just saw her hover around the nest so it must have just happened! I'll have to wait and see if she hopefully rebuilds!

Perhaps it was just too busy where she chose her site. This is not the first time for this, but it is a horrible feeling!
