Hi Tweets,

I had some business in Enumclaw on Wednesday, so I checked to see if the Gyrfalcon was in residence and the answer was ?Yes?! Since the sun was actually out, I had beautiful looks and even managed a few iPhone pictures thru the ultimate in slow lenses ? a spotting scope.

The bird was in one of the 4 dead snags in Mahler Park at the NW corner of 224th Ave SE and SE 436th St. There is parking there and by moving around I was able to find a window thru the tree limbs to see the perched bird.

Later when I was headed back home I swung thru the area again and found the bird in a tall Douglas Fir on the NE corner of 242nd Ave SE and SE 424th St. There is an okay shoulder to temporarily park on, unlike most of the area that goes immediately into water-filled ditches.

Enjoy the sunshine and good birding,
