Yesterday afternoon and evening, Les Carlson and I did some birding in Skamania County hoping to find some owl after dark. We only heard a NORTHERN SAW-WHET OWL despite trying in six different locations. The birding was very slow with most of the wintering waterfowl gone now, we did see the continuing HARRIS'S SPARROW at the feeders at Skamania Landing and a large number of TREE SWALLOWS a Rock Creek pond in Stevenson.
