Hello all,
Just returned from the blood pond on Dodd road, western WWCo. where
there are currently 3 RUSTY BLACKBIRDS - we have never had 3 at once before!
One male and 2 females - with just a few Brewer's Blackbirds and
starlings - so easier to see than when they are the flocks of thousands
at the poop piles.

There are many thousands of blackbirds around the Tyson slaughterhouse
and the poop piles - would take hours to scope them all.

Yesterday we tried to count the Snow Geese at McNary NWR - watched one
flock drop out of the sky into a field - counted 1000 birds dropping
down every minutes for 15 minutes - and this was only half the flock -
there could very well be over 20,000 birds out there. The number of
these birds stopping here has gone up every year for 20 years.

Happy spring birding, M&ML
