Dear Tweeters,
Today, the first of January 2016, it was a good day for birds in Skagit County, and nice weather here--two things that seldom coincide.
Highlights included a Swamp Sparrow at North Fork Access, "the" Long-billed Curlew at March Point's dredge-spoil islands, and an Eared Grebe in Similk Bay.
Other good birds included Least Sandpiper (at both N Fork Access and Bingo Hall Lagoon), Western Sandpiper (March Point), Pileated Woodpecker (Dodge Valley), and a few American Pipits here and there on Fir Island.
Yours truly,
Gary Bletsch
