In early February my husband and I are leaving for a six-week trip to South
Africa where we'll visit a wide variety of habitats, from Kruger to Cape
Town. We will take our binoculars but not our Leica scope because of its
weight.

We're wondering if there is a lightweight, affordable spotting scope
suitable for birding out there somewhere that would we could carry on
hikes. If you have any advice and/or recommendations for us, we would
certainly appreciate it.
