I was out getting some much needed birding on Sunday after Thanksgiving this past November. I went over to Port Susan Bay driving down Boe Road to the Nature Conservancy. Noticed a game warden and waved as he was talking to a hunter. He had a dead dear in the back of his truck. I drove over to Eide Rd and again he showed up there. I then went up to the Fir Island Game preserve and a little while later, he showed up. This time I went over to say hello. He told me he has all of Snohomish and Skagit county to police alone. I am not surprised in your case, no one came to investigate your report.
Our State does not have money appropriated to cover the vast areas of our state with folks who deal with hunting, fishing and property. I don?t know how many people there are to cover central and eastern Washington but my guess is very few.
Happily birding,
