Hey Tweets!

I spent Saturday and Sunday birding in Chelan County, and found some good birds despite the occasional snow. Saturday morning was spent with Ken Hemberry exploring from Wenatchee through Cashmere. Walla Walla Point Park had good numbers of waterfowl, including a pair of Greater White-fronted Geese. Snow and cold kept most of the other birds down.

In Cashmere, feeders along Pioneer street had a pair of Lesser Goldfinches, and I came back the next day to find Common Redpolls that have been hanging around in a birch tree. I missed waxwings (including a Bohemian) that had been on the same block.

Sunday in Chelan started with Great Horned Owls at several spots above the lake on the north side. Wapato Lake was hard to see through the snow, but I was able to pick out some Redheads and Canvasback in addition to the Ring-necked Ducks and scaup.

The other highlights were along the Columbia, where I had Gray Partridge (mentioned yesterday), numerous Chukar, including about a dozen at Beebe Springs, and a pair of Trumpeter Swans just north of there.

61 species for the weekend despite the snow!

Happy birding!
