Tweeters,

On Tuesday, 1/19, on a trip I led to West Seattle (Jack Block Park, etc.)
for the UW Retirement Association birders, we had 10 SURFBIRDS and 3 BLACK
TURNSTONES within 10 feet of us on the rocks just east of Luna Park on
Duwamish Head at about 10:30am. In addition, in the channel to the north, we
spotted one of the largest flocks of WESTERN GREBES most of us have seen for
some time: apx 100 of them. Note: We initially had two Surfbirds at Jack
Block Park earlier, but it was a peek-a-boo view from a distance.

May all your birds be identified,

Denis DeSilvis
