Tweeters,

It was raining most of the time during this curtailed bird walk, but (per
one of our intrepid birders) at least no one drowned. Other than the paucity
of numbers for most species, of particular note were the four separate
flocks of GOLDEN-CROWNED KINGLETS we found -- all of which were foraging
either on the ground or near ground-level. A GREAT HORNED OWL was spotted by
one birder, but we couldn't locate it after it flew. We had a total of 17
species today, which at least is almost triple the number of birders (6).

The JBLM Eagles Pride GC birders meet the third Thursday of each month at
8:00AM. Starting point is Bldg # 1514, Driving Range Tee, Eagles Pride Golf
Course, I-5 Exit 116, Mounts Road Exit. Upcoming walks include the
following:

. February 18

. March 17

. April 21

Anyone is welcome to join us!
