HI ALL:
This morning I checked on the sightings of 2 Common Redpolls that Brad
Waggoner reported here on Bainbridge Island from yesterday and early this morning. They had been
seen in Winslow off of Shannon Drive. When I got to the location there was
no activity, but I did run into another birder, Tom Mansfield. He just had
them in the Waterfront Park in Winslow. He also had 2 Pine Grosbeaks! He
took me to the spot he just had them (both the redpolls and grosbeaks) at.
After a few minutes I spotted the 2 grosbeaks drinking out of a puddle.
Tom managed to get some photos. Other birders arrived and the grosbeaks
were seen by all in another part of the park. The grosbeaks were
female-types and were the second island record and they are rare in Kitsap
County. I couldn't find the redpolls though.

sincerely
