Hi Tweeters,

This is my first tweet, as my wife and I are newer to birding, but quickly
being taken up by the fun of finding new places, listening, watching, and
identifying birds. Saturday Jan22nd, we checked out Kah Tai Pond in Port
Townsend after following reports of Redpoll's in the area. This could be a
first sighting for us.

We walked around in the rain for a few hours and had a great time finding
House Finches, Spotted Towhees, Ruby Crowned Kinglets, Rudy Ducks, Red
Winged Black Birds, Eurasian and American Widgeons. But no sighting of the
Redpolls.

Wet and hoping for better luck next time, we were almost to the parking lot
when a fellow Tweeter, Dan from Quilcene called out and asked us if we had
seen the Redpolls? Dan said that, Tom from Seattle, who we met earlier had
shared the spot and he could bring us to them! So grateful to the kindness
and special effort shown by Dan and Tom; this is another reason birding is
so special.
