Tweets, Saturday I observed a male LAZULI BUNTING hovering at the tops of
tall grass stalks and picking off the seeds from the heads. Looked like a
lot of work! Two singing males located S of Tenino on Skookumchuck Rd about
1.2 mi E of SR507. Look for the cattle feeding structures and pulloffs on
each side of the road. I believe they are nesting in the snowberry patch to
the N. Also, PURPLE MARTINS are nesting in utility poles along SR507, eg,
at 174th Ave and approx 178th. Good birding!
