Subject: [Tweeters] Lazuli Bunting new species for yard list

Hello Tweets,
I was pleasantly surprised to have a male Lazuli Bunting show up on a small
tree next to our pond, late this morning. I have seen two in the past
several years, maybe 8 years? They were less than 1/4 mile from our current
location.
We have only sunflower and peanut butter suet in our feeders. And
thistle. I read earlier today they only eat millet and berries. But many of
my supposed millet eaters feast on the sunflower without hesitation.
Does anyone have experience with Lazulis at the feeder? I don't want to
go buy millet if I don't have to. He didn't hang out at the feeders and
seemed only interested in the waterfall/ stream. I didn't get my camera
set up in time to get a photo, but now I'm standing vigil with my screen
off and window ajar.

Cheers,
Vicki Biltz
