Thank you, Shep, for sharing this sad news with our community.

Although I know many enthusiastic birders, Ruth?s passion for birding was hard to surpass. The first time I met her back in the 90?s, I remember seeing a woman with flaming red hair, trudging through mud flats in Ocean Shores, wearing her waders and with her scope over her shoulder. She always seemed younger than her years. She will be missed.

May she now soar with the birds.
