When I was in college back in the late 1970's, in St. Louis, a mockingbird
was in the habit of sitting in a tree outside my dorm TA's room and
mimicking his alarm clock at all hours of the night. I can't count how many
times I'd hear him stumble down the hall to the showers after sleepily
turning off his "alarm", and then a few minutes later a muffled expletive as
he stomped back to his room at 3 AM. They are amazingly talented mimics.

A couple of years ago I heard one mocking sirens , at the south end of
the San Francisco Bay Refuge near Alviso. It was mocking other things
too don't remember what , but it was very entertaining.
