Dear Tweeters,
A juvenile Hairy Woodpecker decided to try for a drink of hummingbird nectar today! He was clinging to a hanging hummingbird feeder at my place in Skagit County, trying to get his tongue into one of the fake yellow flowers. This was one of those pseudo-three-toed woodpeckers with the yellow on the crown. He was gone before I could grab a camera.
