Hello all,

Linda Hagen first reported a male Broad-tailed Hummingbird to us on the
20th of July - we spent 3 hours that evening in her yard and saw many
Black-chinned Hummers but no BT.

After more reports and visiting with Linda and listening to her
description we again spent 3 hours in her yard yesterday evening - again
no luck. MerryLynn went back at 5:45 am this morning until 7:30 - no
luck but saw a probable female Anna's Hummer. We headed over again at
9:45 - and FINALLY at 10:45 am the Broad-tailed Hummingbird made an
appearance long enough for a quick photo. Linda's description is on ebird.

Linda is at 620 E. Chestnut in Walla Walla - you can see the feeders
from the street - and she is welcoming visitors to sit by the patio (on
the west side of the house) to watch. Please do not go past the patio -
it is an open backyard and that is close enough to see everything.

For those with lots of patience you may be rewarded!

The Tracy road feeder folks Don and Doris say they have had a
Broad-tailed this summer as well - we have stopped but not spent the
time to check that one out. Tracy road is off Biscuit Ridge road out of
Dixie.

Mike and I birded Biscuit Ridge yesterday morning - hoping for Dusky
Grouse. No luck there but did have GRAY JAYS which we missed during the
WOS Conf.
