Bruce, thank you for originally posting the bird so quickly and for attempting to relocate it again this morning. You went above and beyond. Much appreciated.

Chuck and other eBirders, your checklists were not available because this pond is not an eBird public hotspot. And until reports of a rare species are confirmed, they don?t show up through an Explore Species search in eBird. So there was no way, other than Tweeters posts, for birders considering the drive to know whether the bird was continuing to be seen. Unconfirmed sightings do show up in checklists on the overview page for public hotspots. There is no way that I know of to access private hotspots other than with an Explore Species search under the Explore Data tab. If there is another way to access private hotspots of others, it would be great if someone would share that out.

Congratulations to all of you who did see the Snowy Egret. Great Pierce County bird.
