Using ebird rare bird alerts is a great way to see recent reports of a
rarity, as already mentioned. The easiest way to see recent reports from a
particular spot, in my experience, is to look up that county and look at
the recent visits. To reach that page, go to ebird and go to "explore
data", then tap "explore region", type in the county of choice and look
under "recent visits". You can then see all recent ebird checklists in that
county, just look for reports from the spot you want to visit. Here is the
Pierce County list:
