Lots of Yellow-breasted Chats are singing at the Umtanum suspension bridge
area. I think you need to go early when they are in full song which is
about 7:30 AM. By 9 AM several had stopped singing. Same is true for the
Spotted Towhees and Lazuli Buntings. On the morning of June 5, at 7 AM, there
were two Black Terns flying over the pond and fields behind the Ellensburg
Comfort Inn. On June 4th, two Common Nighthawks were seen near Ventura Rd. as
it intersects with Brick Mill Rd. If you enjoy wine, consider stopping by
the Thrall & Dodge wine tasting room in "downtown" Kittitas.
