Subject: [Tweeters] flicker genetics?

Tweets,

I've got flickers feeding young from the suet. Female feeding female,
and earlier, male feeding male, with that chick the only one of the four
showing the
intergrade trait of a red nape mark. I wouldn't have thought it
recessive, though it seems it may be. Anyone know the genetics?

(And let me know if you know of international birding/volunteering
needing one more this summer -- a trip didn't quite come together.)
