All,

As part of my on-going attempt to understand Fox Sparrow identification,
especially among the Sooty group, I invite all to join the Fox Sparrows
Facebook group and post photographs at
https://www.facebook.com/groups/447117322159681/

Be sure to include date and location. I would love to see summer breeding
ground pics of fuliginosa Sooty Fox Sparrow from the Puget Sound area.
Despite being the most illustrated in field guides, pics of these guys
on-line are extremely rare. Nearly every photo of a Fox Sparrow from this
region comes from winter and appears to be townsendi with tiny bill, short
tail, and rich dark chestnut tones.

Finally, I'll be in the south Sound area July 1-4 and am interested in
recommendations where I can find Fox Sparrows.

thanks,
