Subject: [Tweeters] Eagles carrying sticks but no nest

I've seen eagles and other raptors carrying sticks and sometimes "playing"
with them, dropping and catching them again in mid-air outside of nesting
season. I don't know if there is any scientific explanation of this
behavior. Maybe it's just practice, maybe it's play.
