The Knittles, and their support and encouragement for county birding and the compilation of the county checklists has changed how we bird and contributed immensely to our knowledge of the distribution and populations of species in Washington State. My thanks go to them for their work on this and their friendship to our birding community . Wilson Cady

Bravo to Ken and Laurie – who else has contributed more? This couple has volunteered hundreds of hours of time to document and encourage birding in Washington. Their commitment is unmatched. (OK, I’m a little biased because they are special friends…but it’s true!). Thanks for all of your hard work and persistence.
