Subject: [Tweeters] Edmonds Say's Phoebe

There was a Say?s Phoebe at the Edmonds marsh late yesterday (3-7-16) afternoon. I watched it for about ten minutes, then a long freight train rumbled by, blasting its horn, and the bird flew off. Two of us tried to relocate it and were unable to. Of the four previous Say?s Phoebes seen in Edmonds since 1989, none was seen on day two. Of other interest was a pair of Wood Ducks (code 3) tucked into a low branch over the water, two Dunlin (code 3) feeding in the sewing -machine style of dowitchers, and a Red-breasted Sapsucker high in a deciduous tree along the walkway between the boardwalk and the tennis courts viewing platform.

A reminder that Sunday, March 13th, is the last day of birding from the Edmonds public pier before it closes through June for restoration.
