HI Everyone,

As you recall, last month, the East Cascades Audubon Society rolled out a new interactive map that displayed the results of our January 2016 raptor surveys.? I would like to announce the release of a second new map that displays the results of our February 2016 raptor surveys. I invite you to visit the ECAS website? ( ecaudubon.org)? to view both maps and see the numbers of birds found on each route as well as the distribution and population densities for the most prevalent species throughout the state.?? When you get to the web site, click on the Project section of the top tool bar then click on Winter Raptor Survey.? That will then display two raptor silhouette buttons that you can click to see the two maps.? You can open both files at once and click back and forth on the file tabs to see comparisons for the two months :)? These maps are the result of more than 225 volunteers doing monthly surveys from November through March on 270 routes throughout Oregon, Idaho, the Columbia River area of Washington and the California portion of the Klamath Basin covering more than 16,000 miles of survey transects.? We are currently working on the map that will display the results of our December surveys.? Efforts are also underway to incorporate all the route data in Idaho (96 routes as of this winter) into these maps and hope to get that accomplished by early summer.? Feel free to invite your friends to visit the ECAS website and also feel free to release this announcement on any list serve you belong to to spread the word, thanks :)? Please take a few minutes to peruse the maps and if you have any questions or suggestions after your review, please feel free to email me.? Enjoy! :)
