He's back! At least this is the first time I've heard him (the "Bard" in our back yard. And this is in the white pine which is directly next to the hemlock with the Bushtit nest (the one in the suet cage). Quite invigorating to know an owl is sitting in your tree. OK, it's not a Screech or a No. Saw Whet, but an owl nonetheless. It called the "Who Cooks for You" several times, taunting me. I went outside to listen and know I was standing directly beneath him, unless he was doing some amazing ventriloquism act. Yet I couldn't spot him!

I talked with one woman this week who was eating dinner and in the tree outside her dining room (in Edmonds - Woodway) sat an owl, staring in. Guess he was cooking for her!!

Now I am awake.
