Jetty Island Nutshell - 05/30/16 10:30 AM to 1: 00 PM

Kayak trip counter-clockwise from the Everett marina. Breezy so a lot
of the locals were staying low. Geese hunkered out of the wind. Gulls
and terns banking hard. First osprey nest 200 yds south of the ferry
landing. Then a display of eagles. Nineteen, mostly adults, in close
quarters on the south jetty's driftwood. Many sitting in groups of two
and three vocalizing. Could be scoped from the east pier.

A total of seven Osprey nests seen with incubation. More birds than
nests. A few 'practice' nests. Foundations.

There are two nests easily viewed from the boat launch parking lot to
the north. Please advise your small boat friends to give both the birds
and the local seals some space.

This water can be nasty with wind an power boats. If you are going on
the water come prepared.

Safe travels.
