I made a quick trip this morning to see the Tropical Kingbird in West
Seattle. Yes, it's still there, working back and forth among the trees and
wires adjacent the pedestrian overpass. That's the good news.

The bad news: once again, vandals are present. When I arrived, there was
no other car in the parking area. When I left about 30 minutes later, there
were two more cars and one of them had just suffered a smash and grab. The
lesson, as always, is don't leave valuables visible on the seat of your
car, no matter where.
