My wife and I kayaked through the Fill yesterday afternoon. There were
several highlights for us. We saw 6 Killdeers on a log with about the same
number of Ring-Billed Gulls and one Glaucous-Winged Gull. Second we saw a
pair of Pin Tailed Ducks with the beautiful blue bill with dark wide stripe
down the middle. Both of these were near the Laurelhurst neighborhood
shoreline. Finally, we saw a pair of Green Herons in the reeds looking south
from the Osprey nest. They were across from the water channel midway on the
island so could be viewable from the path.
