After spending many weeks on Lopez Island over the years, we learned of the Point Colville trail at the SW corner of the island, which takes you down to a very beautiful and wild stretch of coast. While enjoying a picnic looking out over the Straights, a juvenile Peregrine emerged from behind Castle Island. It rocketed around for awhile, and then before disappearing, tentatively hovered and toyed with a Rhino Auklet on the water, which of course dived. It seemed somewhat unsure whether it was a good thing to do but it certainly made for fun viewing.

Nothing like enjoying these amazing birds in their natural settings!!!
