Heading out for a walk about 10:15, a crow was mobbing at the top of one of the firs down the street. Went to check it out, and hubby spotted the bird in the very top, which after seeing it finally take off, I'm calling it a RedTail - maybe a juvie?

Dark brown, yellow eyes the rusty streaking and on breast. Couldn't see the belly band or tail from above, but some striping on the tail. Flew too fast to check out the pegagium (Sorry Bud! - I'm trying!! ;-)).

We have seen a Red-tail circling on occasion so it must have been taking a rest. It flew south after it had taken enough harassment.

Always exciting to see a raptor.
